Sunday - the lunch

Siew Kai was the first to arrive. At 11 AM, the door bell rang, and Mom rushed to the front door. "Who is that?" she asked. There is a man on a Honda 'scooter' bike. He wore a helmet with a visor, that covered the entire face. Big Mac! I said. I shouted out to him "Mac!", he waved, and drove in through the gate opening.

"Every time I see you, you have a different mode of transportation.", I said. "Er huh", he groaned. Two years ago, he drove a brand new Peugeot 206. The time before, four years ago, it was a Ford Ranger Extracab. We shook hands, and he handed me a pack of Sotong Kachang, peanuts with squid flavor. Actually, the peanuts is encased in a edible shell made of squid flavored dough. It is quite additive, really. I poured the peanuts out on a plate, and we proceeded to eat it, washing it down with a couple of beers.

Loong2 joined us at the table with a glass of iced soda. He silently enjoyed the peanuts. Mac said to him, "when you come to the bar, you have to commiserate your misery", meaning that he has to say something. Loong2 just silently ate the peanuts.

Loon came next with Lilian. Suddenly, the house is full of noises. Loon likes to tease the children, and they instinctively hide when Loon is around. Loon told us this story: "I used to come here every Sunday morning. One time, I came here on Saturday. Loong2 asked his father, is it Sunday already?"

Now we are all waiting for Molly. Molly is bringing the duck and roast pork, but she will already something extra. Kai said Molly is probably waiting at the duck hawker's stall, waiting for the duck to be ready, silently cursing the hawker for making her late for the party.

When Molly finally arrived, we all cheered. We rushed out to pass out hugs, but mainly to take over the duck and other food stuff she brought. Then the feast begins.
